Petru Lucaci

(n. 1956, Arad)

After graduating with a certificate of honor from the N. Grigorescu Arts Institute, Painting Department (Bucharest, Romania) in 1982, Petru Lucaci became one of the most prolific and known artists in the Romanian art scene and has shown considerable skill and forethought in a multitude of artistic genres and forms: painting, graphics, photography, object / installation, happenings, new media. He has been a highly influential beneficial force in the art scene too through his relevant positions (such as president of The Romanian Artist’s Union), while also being able to shape and aid numerous future generations through his teaching at the Bucharest National University of Arts (his students frequently have a knack for proving themselves to be valuable emerging artists).
